Today's Easter Sunday 16-game MLB slate is more loaded than usual thanks to the doubleheader between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Guardians.

The weekend started with 10 of MLB's winners scoring at least five runs, with five scoring 10 or more. And while several of the biggest names in the sport all homered in Friday’s series opener, I'm looking for more value with less-heralded hitters today.

My MLB player props today offer a balance of two batter and two pitcher props, covering wagers from RBIs to runs scored, as well as earned runs and strikeouts.

💰 Best MLB player prop bet today

Ryan O'Hearn Over 0.5 RBIs (+178)

Ryan O’Hearn is familiar with opposing starter Chris Bassitt from his time in the AL East. O’Hearn has a .533/.588/.800 slash line in 15 career at-bats against Bassitt, and there should be plenty of traffic on the basepaths when he bats, given his teammates’ additional successes.

Fellow Pittsburgh Pirates Brandon Lowe and Bryan Reynolds each have .971 OPSs or better in a decent sample size (34 combined at-bats) against Bassitt. Overall, the righty has allowed a 1.042 OPS to current Pirates hitters, so the value is there for O’Hearn to drive in a run.

📡 SBR Edge: A career year incoming?

It is early in the season, but Ryan O'Hearn is on pace for career-bests in xBA, xSLG, wOBA, and xwOBA, and was averaging more than one RBI per game entering Saturday.

🔥 More MLB player prop picks

Joey Wiemer Over 0.5 runs (+193)

Nationals left fielder Joey Wiemer is one of the best stories of the young season, as he entered Saturday leading the NL with a .588 batting average and 1.741 OPS

Though he received an off day in the series opener on Friday, Wiemer’s plate discipline and penchant for getting on base should play well against Dodgers righty Roki Sasaki.

Sasaki's time in the Dodgers starting rotation could be fleeting if he cannot get his control issues in order. The Japanese righty pitched to a 15.58 ERA in four Spring Training outings after issuing 15 walks in 8 2/3 innings, which led to an eye-popping WHIP of 2.769.

In his debut, Sasaki only threw his signature forkball pitch for strikes 28% of the time. If he continues to miss badly with that pitch, that takes away his biggest weapon with which to keep hitters off balance.

Jack Leiter Over 6.5 strikeouts (+110)

Jack Leiter is coming off a promising season in which he pitched to a 3.86 ERA in 151 2/3 innings, and the outlook is even better this year if he can follow up an impressive debut.

Leiter tied for his third-most strikeouts in his career with eight in his first start. He has been on quite the strikeout tear, with four of his top eight strikeout totals coming within his previous eight starts dating back to August of last season.

Given that Leiter generated 21 whiffs in his first start, he has a high floor for strikeouts when facing a Reds lineup that struck out at the league’s sixth-highest rate entering Saturday (27.5%), and also the sixth-highest rate against right-handed pitchers all of last season.

Lance McCullers Jr. Under 2.5 earned runs (-103)

Lance McCullers Jr. struck out nine Red Sox hitters in his season debut. His pitch usage was interesting compared to when he threw sinkers 41.4% and sweepers 38% of the time to right-handed batters last season. In his debut, his sinker rate was up to 59.6% while his sweeper was down to 6.4%, as he challenged hitters more with his 4-seam fastball (up from 5.6% to 10.6%).

McCullers also used his sweeper less in two-strike counts in favor of his changeup, up to 38.5% from 16.9% in that split a year ago.

While Sutter Health Park is considered one of the most hitter-friendly ballparks in the league, McCullers’ ability to induce ground balls and strikeouts still makes the Under on his earned runs allowed a great value play.

🚀 Best MLB parlay picks today

The stars aligned with us getting the best (or equal to) price for all four of these wagers at DraftKings, which optimized the value for this four-leg parlay. Because the payout is so extravagant since three of the legs involve plus-money wagers, I am also risking 0.1 units on this parlay, which still returning a potential juicy payout.

💡 How I'm betting MLB player props today (April 5)

Follow all of our MLB analysis and expert predictions for baseball season.

My MLB player prop wagers have been my most lucrative so far, making up 91% of my profits thus far. Therefore, even though I'm getting more aggressive with three of my four player props that would pay plus-money odds, I'm still backing each with one unit of my bankroll. I'm excited that the four plays add to a max profit of 5.78 units while only risking four, as there are plenty of ways to remain profitable on the day, even if only two of the picks hit.
