⛳ Masters Power Rankings & Best Bets 2026: Prop Picks for Augusta National Favorites

Scottie Scheffler is the betting favorite to win this week's Masters at Augusta National Golf Course, but he doesn't top my 2026 Masters power rankings.

The 2026 Masters projects to feature one of the best and tightest leaderboards we've ever seen at Augusta National Golf Course.

Storylines abound ahead of the first major of the golf season. Scottie Scheffler is the consensus favorite by the latest Masters odds. Rory McIlroy returns to Augusta, Ga., as the defending Masters champion for the first time. Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm are in top form on the LIV Golf Invitational Series. And Patrick Reed has won twice since leaving LIV Golf this year.

My Masters power rankings offer my best bet and favorite prop pick for each of the top Masters contenders ahead of Thursday's opening round.

🏅 Honorable mention: Viktor Hovland

I highlighted Viktor Hovland as the best of my Masters long-shot picks. Though he hasn't shown his top form yet this season, I've been impressed by his improved short game through seven international events, and his iron play remains sharp as usual.

He gained strokes with his putter in four of his previous five trips to Augusta National, and I'm definitely sprinkling on his +5500 outright betting odds.

💰 Best bets for our Masters top 10

Here's the analysis for our top 10 Masters power rankings to help with your golf picks this week:

đŸĨ‡ Bryson DeChambeau

Best odds to win: +1200
Best Masters finish: T-5 (2025)
Bet to make: To win (+1200)

Why I'm betting Bryson DeChambeau: LIV Golf's move to 72-hole events has benefited DeChambeau immensely, as he won back-to-back events in March. His results at Augusta National have been improving, and I expect him to have learned a lot from Rory McIlroy's near-collapse on the back nine in last year's final round.

đŸĨˆ Rory McIlroy

Best odds to win: +1200
Best Masters finish: Win (2025)
Bet to make: Top European (+470)

Why I'm betting Rory McIlroy: McIlroy has played only Signature Events this year and withdrew from the Arnold Palmer Invitational due to a back injury. Still, he leads all in the Masters field in strokes gained: off-the-tee per round this year, and I'm excited to watch him play a pressure-free Masters after completing the career grand slam a year ago.

đŸĨ‰ Scottie Scheffler

Best odds to win: +550
Best Masters finish: Win (2024, 2022)
Bet to make: First-round leader (+1300)

Why I'm betting Scottie Scheffler: Scheffler arrived early in Augusta, Ga., with his newborn son in tow. He's been off since a T-22 finish in The Players Championship and is well-rested (from golf) while looking for his third green jacket. Despite a lack of results this year, outside of his win at The American Express, his short game and putting have been elite. That's helping to pick up the slack for his worse-than-usual iron play.

4ī¸âƒŖ Jon Rahm

Best odds to win: +1100
Best Masters finish: Win (2023)
Bet to make: Top continental European (+155)

Why I'm betting Jon Rahm: Rahm has a win and three runner-up finishes on the LIV Series this year. It's the best form he's brought to Augusta National since joining the start-up tour. I want to see his odds lengthen slightly before entertaining an outright bet, as I have him squarely in this tier below the top three names.

5ī¸âƒŖ Xander Schauffele

Best odds to win: +1800
Best Masters finish: T-2 (2019)
Bet to make: Top-10 finish (+145)

Why I'm betting Xander Schauffele: Schauffele has three straight top-10 finishes at Augusta National, and he enters the Masters off of back-to-back top-5 results. His iron play has been his strength, and he's showing increased distance off the tee.

🗝️ Masters key stats

Here are the stats I'm looking at for my Masters bets:

Stat Weight Why it matters
Strokes gained: approach 25% Toughest greens in golf require approach shots to the proper tier
Strokes gained: around-the-green 20% Getting up and down is essential while avoiding wasted shots and high scores
Proximity: 150-175 yards 15% The most common approach range the last three years
Par-4 efficiency: 450-plus yards 15% All but 1 of 6 such holes played over par last year; any strokes gained are key
Scrambling 15% See the above on approach and short game; recovery is a must
3-putt avoidance 10% More predictable and sustainable than SG: putting

6ī¸âƒŖ Ludvig Aberg

Best odds to win: +1700
Best Masters finish: 2nd (2024)
Bet to make: Top Nordic (+160)

Why I'm betting Ludvig Aberg: It's rare for three straight top-5 finishes to be considered disappointing, but that's exactly the case for Aberg, who should've had at least two victories in that span. He'll make his third appearance at the Masters, and has gained over a stroke per round on these incredibly difficult greens in both previous trips.

7ī¸âƒŖ Collin Morikawa

Best odds to win: +3500
Best Masters finish: T-3 (2024)
Bet to make: Top 10 (+300)

Why I'm betting Collin Morikawa: The inflated odds absolutely warrant a wager on Morikawa to win his first Masters. After winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and finishing T-7 or better in The Genesis and Arnold Palmer Invitationals, he seemed to be following McIlroy's path to Augusta. Back-to-back withdrawals due to injury add risk, but I love everything about his current game if he's healthy.

8ī¸âƒŖ Patrick Reed

Best odds to win: +4400
Best Masters finish: Win (2018)
Bet to make: Top 20 (+126)

Why I'm betting Patrick Reed: Reed followed Brooks Koepka in leaving the LIV Series. While he must wait until next year for his PGA Tour return, he won twice on the DP World Tour and has soared back up the world rankings. Few in the field have shown such consistent excellence on Augusta's greens.

9ī¸âƒŖ Chris Gotterup

Best odds to win: +4500
Best Masters finish: NA
Bet to make: Top Debutant (+360)

Why I'm betting Chris Gotterup: Gotterup is the PGA Tour's lone two-time winner this season (Sony Open and WM Phoenix Open). That puts him in an elite tier of potential Masters champions when looking at recent winners. McIlroy, Scheffler, and Rahm each had multiple wins on the season ahead of their victory at Augusta National. Though no debutant has won the Masters since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979, I love the +360 odds for Gotterup to be the top finisher among this year's first-timers.

🔟 Si Woo Kim

Best odds to win: +5500
Best Masters finish: T-12 (2021)
Bet to make: Top Asian (+185)

Why I'm betting Si Woo Kim: If Kim had putted early in the season like he did in his last two events, he'd probably have multiple wins this season. He ranks second to Morikawa in SG: approach this year (1.11 strokes per round), and he's also gaining strokes with his driver and long irons. He has never lost strokes on the greens at the Masters.

🧮 Masters bankroll management & betting tips

Properly managing your bankroll is the most crucial aspect of sports betting, regardless of the sport or your preferred bet types. Our betting calculators can help you decide how much to commit to each wager, and we advise tracking your deposits, withdrawals, and bets.

Here is the split for my Masters betting card. I'm betting a few more outright winners than I would for a typical event - but mostly sticking near the top of the oddsboard.

Bet type % of tournament bankroll Bet size Amount ($200 tournament bankroll)
Outright bets 40% 1 units $80
Long-shot outrights 10% 0.25 units $20
Prop bets 50% 1 unit $100

â„šī¸ Augusta National Golf Course info

Here's what to know about Augusta National Golf Course:

Augusta National Golf Course
Par 72
Length 7,565
Greens Bentgrass
Architect Dr. Alister MacKenzie (and Bobby Jones)
Key trait Six par 4s at least 450 yards

The most famous golf course in the world, Augusta National, routinely poses a stiff test for the world's best golfers. The last five tournament winners finished with a 72-hole score between -10 and -12. Dustin Johnson's -20 winning score in 2020 is the outlier, with that tournament played in the fall amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Augusta National is famous for elevation changes, fast and undulating greens, and lengthy par 4s with six playing at least 450 yards. Dogleg fairways and well-placed fairway bunkers force lesser clubs off the tee. Scoring must be done on the four par 5s.
